Robert H. Frank

As the managing partner at Frank & Company, Robert Frank directs the operations of the firm. Bob founded Frank & Company in 1978 and oversaw the firm’s growth to one of the top 25 ranked accounting firms in the Washington, DC, area. For over 35 years Bob has been recognized throughout the community as an industry expert and civic leader.

His specialized experience includes auditing financial statements of for-profit and not-for-profit entities; representing clients and presenting findings to regulatory and appeals bodies; assessing tax compliance; consulting to boards of directors on strategic planning; direct marketing fundraising for charitable organizations; and examining organizational operations to ensure compliance with SOP 98–2 and OMB Circular A–133.

Considered by his peers to be a leading authority of not-for-profit accounting matters, Bob has lectured extensively to other professionals as well as co-authored many articles and special publications, including “Accounting for Volunteer Services in a Charitable Organization,” “Cost Allocation Methods for Not-for-Profit Organizations,” and “The Hands-On Guide to Fundraising Strategy & Evaluation.”

Serving others through the not-for-profit community has been a life-long rewarding experience for Bob.  He has had the privilege serving as Treasurer on numerous boards of directors for distinguished nonprofit entities including: the National Law Enforcement Officer’s Memorial Fund, INOVA Health Systems, Inc., Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund, and Mothers Against Drunk Driving.

Bob holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Louisiana State University and a Master’s in Accounting from Texas Tech University. Bob is a Certified Public Accountant licensed to practice in Texas, California, and Virginia and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants.

When not taking care of client needs, you can find Bob enjoying a cigar and wine after he has completed a round of golf, or spending time with his family, including his grandchildren, Tristan and Ariel.
